Tipitaka Monastery (a.k.a Seattle Myamnar Buddhist Association or SMBA) was founded in March of 2006. SMBA is exempt from Federal Income Tax under section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Sayadaw U GanDhaMarlar arrived to perform official openning ceremony on August and stayed untill December 2006. During the long period of visa application for a resident monk, from 12/06 to 9/07, we are very fortunate and greatly hornored to have many visiting Sayadaws stayed at the monastery. We really enjoyed their visits and greatly appreciate the Dhama teachings they have given us during their stay.
